DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE CHAPTER GENERAL

All members of the Order, Companions and friends are invited by our Principal Chaplain, Monsignor John Armitage, to a Day of Prayer to mark the beginning of the Chapter General of our beloved Order in Rome on SATURDAY 21st JANUARY, the final day of the Novena of Prayer.

The Day will take place in the Crypt of our former Conventual Church in Clerkenwell, the Priory Church of St John of Jerusalem (St John's Square, London EC1V 4JJ), now under the jurisdiction of the Venerable Order. We are very grateful to the Venerable Order for allowing us to use the Crypt on this very special moment in the life of our Order.

The timetable is as follows:
11.30      Crypt opens for silent prayer
12.30     HOLY MASS
14.00     Talk
14.15      Silent prayer

15.15
      Talk
15.45     Silent prayer
16.45     Closing prayers and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament
Please note that the crypt is only accessible by stairs. All are welcome to attend, and to bring guests. You do not have to inform us of your attendance, and you can come for all or any part of the day.  There are numerous small places near for lunch, including the newly-opened "Bouchon Racine" in Cowcross Street, Clerkenwell, which many people will remember from the Brompton Road after Mass at the Oratory.

The more observant will notice that this day falls halfway through the Pope's Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, a most felicitous providence which should encourage us to attend, for the wider unity and peace within the Church in these tempestuous days, in which our Order should, and will, play such a large part.

Our Lady of Philermo, pray for us
Saint John the Baptist, pray for us
Blessed Adrian Fortescue, pray for us
